Willing To Follow

Most of us believe that making a difference in the world requires an impressive title, a charismatic personality, a huge social media following or some other attribute of worldly value.
Fact is, however, the Bible is chock-full of tales of the most ordinary people doing the most extraordinary things when empowered by God.
A prime example is the original twelve disiples.
Jesus, after some intense prayer, selected the twelve with whom He would spend the bilk of His time over the next three years. And let's face it, by worldly standards these guys weren't exactly the "cream of the crop" or the "pick of the litter."
James and John, brothers known as " The Sons of Thunder" were thunderous hotheads. Simon was a rebel and a zealot.
These were the three who comprised Jesus' closest inner circle.
Among the others, Matthew was a tax collector reviled by his neighbors as a corrupt thief and extortionist. Most were fisherman or laborers, working with their hands before becoming the hands and feet of Christ.
They were prime examples that God can use anyone, model citizen and ne'er-do-well alike.
The most important trait is a willingness to follow Jesus and a desire to be more like Him.
The original twelve were also teachable and ready to act on what they had learned.
Their kingdom-building actions literally changed the world.
We have a kingdom-building role as well and we can begin immediately with just the smallest of contributions.
We can start by being just a little bit kinder to those we come in contact with each day. How about if we also find ways to give just the tiniest bit more, serve just a smidgen more and make a decision to not attend every argument that we're invited to.
Most important of all, we can follow the positive example of the original twelve by staying close to Jesus each day, learning from Him thru His Word as shared in the Bible.
And remember, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." Colossians 3:23

Our Purpose
Cross My Heart Ministry is dedicated to building God's Kingdom! We help people experience the goodness of God through music and teaching. We believe that Jesus wants to change lives for the better and help people live a full and abundant life in His will. We help the lonely, the hurt, and the outcasts to find hope and community in Christ. We believe in the transformative power of Christ's love and aim to share it with all.
Our ministry seeks to reach individuals with the Good News of faith through gospel music and Biblical teaching. We partner with local churches and ministries to reach our communities with compassion and truth. We strive to bless the Body of Christ and create a welcoming environment where everyone can experience God's grace and love!

Bruce brings over four decades of experience as a sportswriter covering multiple sports for various publications. Bruce also has decades of experience in motor sports marketing, publishing and public relations. He has volunteered as a teacher and leader to several local ministries. He loves the Lord and looks forward to bringing hope to this community through Cross My Heart Ministry
